Description: Mt. Soledad,at 822 feet above sea level, has one of the most panoramic views of the San Diego area and Pacific Ocean. Learn about aviation records set from this hilltop, the geology of the area, and visit a one-of-a-kind veteran’s memorial, which includes a number of famous people.
Activity: A guided 30-minute walk around the summit to see the 360 degree view of San Diego for some awesome photo opportunities. I will point out landmarks and describe what you see that makes San Diego such a unique place to live. We will also tour the memorial below the Soledad Cross. I can point out famous people memorialized there and tell the story about the 26 year controversy surrounding Mt Soledad and a historical event that occurred there in 1930.
