Description: One of the most visited national monuments in the United States. Visit the spot where Spanish explorers arrived in 1542. Learn the history of these explorers, the eventual development of San Diego, and the military history of this lookout point 422 feet above sea-level with panoramic views over the Pacific, San Diego Bay, and Downtown San Diego. Activity: A 30-minute walking tour of the history of Cabrillo, the light house, visitor center shopping and a 20-minute Cabrillo movie. Plenty of photo opportunities overlooking Coronado and the San Diego harbor and skyline. OPTION B: A nature hike on the Bayside Trail with view of the bay, local plants, geology, military history. Add 60 minutes.
